Hollókő and Eger

Hollókő is a living museum village hidden among the gentle slopes of the Cserhát Mountain. Its 58 protected buildings have preserved the so called "palóc" peasant architecture of the 17th century. You'll learn about the past, the folk customs and the traditional dresses of the area. The old village with the white church, the 13th century Castle on the hill and the vineyards of the surrounding hills is part of the UNESCO World Heritage.

The next stop is the historical town of Eger. We'll visit the Castle which was the scene of the Hungarian's glorious victory against the Turks. In the centre we will visit the library and the famous "Spekula Observatory" of the Lyceum and the 2nd largest Basilica of the country. We'll see the Baroque palaces, wrought iron gates and balconies and the northernmost minaret in the world.

It is a good opportunity to taste the world famous wine of Eger the so called "Bull's Blood" in the Valley of the "Beautiful Woman".
